MEMORY UNIT MURALS
The Cove Memory Unit of Cape Albeon sought an artist who could transform the entry and exit ways into pieces that brightened up the area and lightened moods.

THE COVE
This piece was inspired by a photo taken of the environment around the retirement center. They wanted to show the liveliness of the nature around them while still feeling homie. This piece sat at the end of a long hallway that would change the scenery to a small paining on a wall to a garden scene that the viewer would feel within.

OCEAN VIEW
The idea for the second painting was to send the residents to an ocean scene with a beautiful view. They wanted this one to embrace color while allowing the hallway to keep extending as if it were a portal to a fantasy land. A bird was added to give good perspective of how large the view is to the scene.

THE BEACON
The last mural's design comes from the message of the company. They promote to be the lighthouse that is a beacon of hope in caring for residents with Dementia and Alzheimer's. The lighthouse displayed upon the cliff replicates the one constructed on their property. Sunset was also desired as a view for those to appreciate.

THE PROCESS
The paintings took about two weeks to complete fully. Eight-hour days spent either deep in working or in conversation with the residents and staff.

THE RESULTS
Every home resident was very welcoming and loving of that provided. Most wouldn't be afraid to sit and watch while the painting was in process or ask questions. When all was complete, they would tell of their appreciation of the new pieces.
